Non-Tackle Rugby for 3rd thru 8th grade both boys and girls. Our goal is 2 grades per division and to have a boys and girls division if registrations permit. Rugby has been added as a girls sport (title 9) in West-Ada School District, this will help get them ready for tackle ruby or keep having fun in the Non-Tackle league.

Monday Wednesday 9:00-10:00 am held at Friends Community Barn (439 N Star Rd). ZOOM Meeting class option will continue for those that want to join from the comforts of their own home. Class meets Wednesdays, June 10 through July 15, 10:00 -11:00 am at the Star River Walk Park. We will cover relationship building between humans and canine, working w/ calm energy and coexisting w/ other dogs in class, leash handling, walking together, verbal commands: sit, down, stay, heel and recall, place bed and Canine Good Citizens and manners. Class is limited to 8. Additional Kit required for class.
Monday and Wednesday 10:30-11 am at Star Community Barn (439 N Star Rd) Fit and Fall Proof is designed to help senior citizens prevent injuries and the subsequent loss of independence. Class participants learn simple exercises to increase strength, balance and endurance, which can help prevent the accidental falls and tripping sometimes associated with age.

This class is a prerequisite (highly recommended) for those interested in Pilates mat class, &/ or private semi private instruction.
8-8:45 am Tuesday and Thursday. Class will be held at NEW City of Star Riverhouse Barn (960 Main St). Please bring your workout mat and a set of light weights 5-8 lbs. A full body sculpting workout w/ bursts of cardio to benefit your heart and lungs will be key elements to every workout. All exercises will be led by certified leaders that know safe modifications no matter what your fitness level.
Want to learn how to play Pickleball? This free clinic is for you, June 27 beginning at 9 am and we will schedule 12 people every hour until we get everyone scheduled that wants to learn how to play. We will have equipment or you can bring your own. When finished you will be added to our summer programming where we have 42 people, open schedule and weekly meeting reminders to come join the others wanting to play. This is open play, you come and go as you want.
The City of Star can use volunteers all over the spectrum. If you have a passion, interest, or talent in any area that you would like to share please let us know. If you want to help organize rec programs, camps, classes, or events let us know. We have things like monthly committee meetings, coaching, or helping to set up and take down for programs or events to just sitting down volunteering your opinion and a solution.
